The rules of
using Akewe.

These Terms of Service form the binding agreement between you and AKEWE MEDIA NIGERIA LIMITED for your access to and use of the Akewe video platform. Please read every section carefully before you continue.

Effective 18 May 2026

By creating an account, watching videos, uploading content, or otherwise using Akewe in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

1.1 Who We Are

Akewe is a Nigerian-first video-sharing and creator-monetization platform available at akewe.com and through its associated applications and services (together, the "Platform").

The Platform is owned and operated by AKEWE MEDIA NIGERIA LIMITED, a company incorporated in the Federal Republic of Nigeria with registration number RC-1681767 (referred to in these Terms as "Akewe", "we", "us" or "our").

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legally binding contract between you and AKEWE MEDIA NIGERIA LIMITED. They are supplemented by our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Copyright Policy and any other policies we publish, all of which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

1.2 Definitions

In these Terms, the following words have the meanings set out below:

  • "Account" — the personal profile you create to access the Platform.
  • "Channel" — a publishing identity through which content is uploaded and managed; one Account may operate multiple Channels.
  • "Content" — any video, audio, image, text, comment, livestream, thumbnail, metadata or other material uploaded, posted or transmitted on the Platform.
  • "Creator" — a user who uploads Content or operates a Channel.
  • "User", "you" — any person who accesses or uses the Platform, whether as a viewer or a Creator.
  • "Monetization" — the features that allow a Creator to earn revenue, including advertising, tips, pay-per-view, memberships and virtual gifts.
  • "Wallet" — the per-Channel balance record that holds earnings pending payout.

1.3 Acceptance of These Terms

You accept these Terms by registering an Account, by accessing the Platform, or by using any of its features. If you use the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that organisation, and "you" then refers to both you and that organisation.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform. Your only remedy if you are dissatisfied is to stop using the Platform and, where applicable, close your Account.

1.4 Eligibility & Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to create an Account or use the Platform. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your country (18 in Nigeria), you may only use the Platform with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf.

To access Monetization features, request payouts, or purchase paid Content, you must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) and capable of entering into a binding contract under Nigerian law.

You must not use the Platform if you have previously been suspended or removed by Akewe, or if doing so would breach any law that applies to you.

1.5 Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Platform, our business, or legal and regulatory requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page and give reasonable notice through the Platform, such as an in-app notice or a notification on your dashboard.

Changes take effect on the date stated in the updated Terms. If you continue to use the Platform after that date, you are deemed to have accepted the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the Platform before they take effect.

We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically. The version published on this page is always the current and governing version.
